Stupid People Found at Yale

The world's dumbest people were sighted in New Haven, CT yesterday. I can't believe I missed such a golden opportunity.

Yes, the friends and family of Fred Phelps, the very ones who have cornered the market on the idiot gene, were only a few short miles from me and I blew the chance to go and mock them. Honestly, these people should not be allowed out in public. Then again, they are good for a few laughs.

These geniuses were protesting at Yale yesterday against gays. (I can't believe they actually found their way out of the cornfields and to the great state of New England.) There they stood, waving their placards, which served to inform us that gays and other "immoral people" who "experiment with sexual irregularities" were responsible for the shuttle disaster and Sept. 11.

Apparently, God got so angry at "The Gays," he blew up the Columbia and toppled the WTC towers in a spiteful hissy fit. And here we are, blaming Al Queda and Saddam all this time and they are completely innocent. Shoot.

(Check out the pic on the sign -- the space shuttle, as Robyn astutley pointed out, looks like a giant flying butt plug. They're so witty and clever, those self-righteous bastards. Aren't they?)

The Yale students are right -- these guys are a JOKE.

I once interviewed a guy who was a spokesman for Fred Phelps. years ago, Phelps was responsible for or directly linked to an Internet blocking software package I was reviewing for a computer magazine. Halfway through the interview, he paused and asked me, "Say, this magazine, FamilyPC ... does the PC stand for politcally correct? Cuz if it does, I'm afraid I can't continue."

My reply: "No (mumbling) asshole (mumbling), it stand for Personal Computer. Ever heard of those? Why else would I be interviewing you about a porn-blocking software product."

Needless to say, we immediately dropped the product from the review. I think I still have Boy Wonder's phone number, though...
