Day 1 of Retirement

12.30am -- Went to bed smashed after polishing off 4 bottles of Prosecco with the help of a few friends. We spent an impromptu evening with said friends sitting out on the deck by the fire eating, drinking, laughing and smoking a few stogies. Not a bad way to end a hellish 3 months.

3am -- still drunk. Woke up the wife and begged her to shoot me. Drank 1 bottle of Gatorade.

8am -- still drunk, and still not sporting any bullet holes. Once again begged wife to please shoot me. Drank 2nd bottle of Gatorade.

10am -- woke up to phone call from Jack asking me if I was still going to go to the Cape with him. Umm. No. I begged off. I don't handle hangovers during long car rides well, plus I wanted to spend day 1 of my retirement with my wife.

11am -- called Robyn to make sure I didn't do anything/say anything /act stupid. I did. (proof: she reminded me of my "i love you, man" blog post from last night ... sigh)

Apparently, she enjoyed seeing me that smashed -- it was only the second time she's seen me in that condition. I've already paid her off, so no, you can't bribe her.

2pm -- Rehydrated and ready for fun, I took Deb for long motorcycle ride along the beach.

3.30pm -- Thoroughly enjoying what was a spectacular day, I took Robyn for long motorcycle ride along the beach.

5pm -- Deb and I had dinner by the fire on the deck.

6pm -- I am soooo ready for bed.

Tomorrow is going to be a very strange experience... For the first time in ... oh, ever I won't have a damn thing to do, to study for, or someplace to be.

I can't wait...

Congrats!! Very exciting. Motorcycle rides are definitely a great way to celebrate - along with everything else!

Seeing my friends drunk helps keep me sober. Your Saturday night performance earned me probably another 8 years of sobriety.

Thanks!

You know, we REALLY wish that we rang the door bell. Deb looked passed out on the couch, there were no sounds coming from the house. Thank God the neighbors did not call the police. Wish we got finished earlier so we would have seen you in "a state"...can you figure out this perscription-pre-Doc: B12, Vit. C and drink with lots of H2O= NO HANGOVER!!!!!! Belive me it works.
We know you did great, we will party again after you get the results!
