20 hours down, and I'm still only about 2/3 done with my application. And that's just for AMCAS. I still have the osteo schools to consider. Jesus - I've been plugging in courses and grades and all kinds of personal info all day today, my head is spinning! It doesn't help that I have barely slept the past few days.
The July 4th weekend was good - low key, but good. We went to several BBQs and met some interesting and fun new people, watched the local fireworks extravaganza at the beach, caught some live music at a cafe, and got caught up on lots of reading. Overall - not too bad. Very relaxing - although I would not exactly say I am relaxed at the moment. Semi-comatose yet on edge is more like it (if that's at all possible).
Tonight I'm finally going to see Fahrenheit 911. Yes, finally. I'm almost tempted to see Spiderman 2 instead ... but, my duty as a left-wing liberal lesbian calls.
In other matters, I found out on Thursday that the research paper I am working on with my advisor was accepted for publication and presentation at a big medical conference in San Francisco in October. I get to present! We're going to make a vacation out of it since I'll be there for 3 days for the conference anyway. We'll probably head up to Napa for a day or two and then play catch-up with a lot of friends. MJ - if you're in the area, we're having drinks! (Besides, I think you owe me a few... ;)
Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!

Posted by: LA on July 5, 2004 11:12 PMHey that's great news! And I have no idea where I'll be in October, but if it's anywhere near there - you can count on it. You're right, I've not forgotten. I'm just incredible LAME that way sometimes. I blame it on my ADD. Every time I remember I get distracted. "I gotta pay Laura back! Oh look - stickers!"
