I spent the morning doing what Robyn refers to as "man's work" and my arms are now 4 inches longer. I suppose it could be worse - they could be shorter, and I'd have to go work at CVS and stand on a milk crate ringing up Junior Mints, minipads, and vaginal itch cream for the corporate clientele.
My first attempt at getting paid for physical labor involved helping some friends deliver these god damn kitchen and master bedroom cabinets to some mansion in the process of being built in Greenwich. (R- I don't think you could share this experience with me - there's definite physical discomfort involved. Unless you want to stand there and swat the swarming yellow jackets away from my head.)
Worse - they were taupe. Who the fuck spends a gazillion dollars on a kitchen, and paints it taupe?
I gotta say, the rest of the house was pretty swanky - a walk-in closet and bathroom in every bedroom. I lost count of how many bedrooms there were on the third floor.
I'm going again on Monday to deliver something else to some other rich bastard somewhere along the Gold Coast. However, intense physical labor is not something I can ever see myself doing on a regular basis. It's great to get some extra cash as a supplement to the checks I get from Uncle Sam and the money my former employer paid me.
I gotta say, though, seeing those houses was definite motivation for me to finish up these applications and get them out the door. The faster I become a fat, rich doctor with shiny, sharp tools the faster I can get me one of them cribs. (It is a crib... right, R??? Or is that so 2002???)

And as for physical discomfort, I played softball on Tuesday and in my first at-bat, as I was coming out of the box I could feel my groin screaming, and I could not even jog down to first. I think that for the time being I have you beat, at least you can walk without discomfort.
